Annah Stretton: How to become Great at Business...

Becoming host to Annah Stretton was always going to be special; months of meticulous planning, and strategic alignment with elite businesses in the region, were sure to only enhance Annah’s visit. The beautiful heart of Marlborough, and surroundings of La Veranda Vineyard, would pay privilege on the first of two nights which would see Annah speak to over 110 women in business in the region; we were ready to hear ‘How to become GREAT at Business!’

My pride (and prejudice!) veered the essential importance on firstly showcasing our stunning region before the evening events. I was delighted to accompany Annah to the Bouldevines ‘Vines Village’ for a tasting of some of Marlborough’s finest wines, including the exclusive Clayridge Pinot Blanc (Pinot Gris’ cute little sister!!), before personally introducing Annah to the stunning boutique accommodation offered at Brookhurst Lodge – Pure luxury & indulgence!

With a surplus of Annah’s book ready for sale, Number 8 bubbles on ice and with pens poised, ladies were engaged from the very beginning of our evenings – starting with a selection of our members showcasing their businesses: The fabulous new business of Made-to-Order Ltd - gift baskets bursting with undeniable innovation, flair and alignment opportunities for fellow local businesses; Marlborough 4 Fun with details of the inaugural LaFemme Women’s Expo this May, and ‘real presence’ shaped in the form of our Nelson Member Cheryl Keane: our newest regional e-business consultant for Zeald.com.                                                                                             

Annah’s key address carried an abundance of critical business messages, merged with a natural essence of humour and magnetism. Addressing ‘real’ business issues, Annah challenged our thought processes with candid significance; striking a chord with her audience, and undeniably bucking the trend for traditional, programmed and conventional thinking.  A huge and warm thank you extends itself from the Top of the South!
