Sarah Masterson, Managing Director, who also owns the Nelson Franchise of Egg Maternity, showcased how 'non-pregnant' ladies could still wear the beautiful range of clothes which compliment the fuller figure. Kate received a 'Trinny & Susannah' style makeover by Sarah, modelling some of the range of clothes for the evening.
Fiona was our Guest Speaker in the last week of May - She spoke at our evening event in Nelson on Wednesday 28th May at The Leisure Lodge Motor Inn, Nelson and the following day in Blenheim, at the Marlborough Civic Theatre.
Since browsing through my very first copy of the Her (Business) Magazine, it has always been of fascination to me. as to where the concept of this fast growing and successful magazine had been born? And so who better to answer those questions than Founder of the Her Business Group: Fiona Powell.
With undeniable eloquence and unassuming charm, Fiona arrived to a brisk, sunny and cheery welcome, in readiness for an audience of over 70 women in business, split across two regional events.
Our fabulous Gold Sponsor was Zeald.com; their local Sales Consultant, and Her Business Member, Cheryl Keene, took to the floor to give an informed, upbeat and smart presentation on how we should all be building our websites – How to get significant results, and the importance of Measurement: Remember the quote – “If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it”.
This excellent presentation was quickly followed by another: fellow Member Marion Edwinn – Optimise, showcased her business of Ergonomics: The human–centred design that optimises the fit between the things we do; the things we use, and the environment we work in. Follow this advice and we could ALL increase productivity, reduce sickness and have a healthy workforce…
Then, captivating us with her story from the outset, Fiona Powell took us on a journey; one which started on the back of a motorbike!! As someone who started her business with the attitude that “If it’s to be – It’s up to me” Fiona explained how her business grew, quoting that “she didn’t work from home – She lived from work!!!” Oh, how we related to that!!
With many comical anecdotes, Fiona brought a beautiful balance of humour to her factual, informative and motivational talk, and for those who were not there be sure to check out Fiona’s newest venture: www.entrepreneurette.com. It’s a while new world out there!!
